ABSTRACT
The article presents a clinical case of implantprosthetic rehabilitation of a patient who
underwent segmental resection of the mandibular
bone in the course of sarcoma treatment, with
immediate reconstruction of the postoperative
defect with a microvascular free fibular flap. The
extent of the postoperative defect, and thereby the
size of the graft, postoperative complications in the
form of a reconstruction plate fracture, resulted in
a reduction in the number of planned intraosseous
implants. Two implants placed in the graft in the
mental section of the mandible determinedthe use
a removable prosthetic restoration in the form of
an OVD lower framework prosthesis.
The patient quickly adapted to the new
prosthetic restoration. The stabilization of the
prosthesis and the patient’s chewing capacity
improved significantly compared to the situation
before implantoprosthetic treatment, when the
patient had been using a conventional framework
prosthesis.
