ABSTRACT
Due to their strength properties and low mass, fiber-reinforced composite materials (FRC) have found a wide application to many aspects of dentistry. The paper attempts to describe this group of prosthetic materials, taking into account their unique characteristics, clinical procedures and possible failures that may occur in the mouth during their use. Fiber-reinforced composites make it possible to replace missing teeth of various spans both in the anterior and posterior segments of the dental arch. Long-term efficacy of treatment makes FRC restorations an alternative to prosthetic restorations since the retention is achieved exclusively by means of a mechanical anchorage to the abutment tooth.
