ABSTRACT
Preparation of the oral cavity for prosthetic treatment is an obligatory procedure and focuses on improving the intraoral conditions to perform the chosen treatment plan. Moreover, it should also be seen as a preventive element of pathological changes in the oral tissues of a progressive nature. The paper presents a case of a patient who had experienced iatrogenic neglect of the reconstruction of pathological tooth wear and treatment with the use of removable dentures in the conditions of decreased vertical dimension of the occlusion. The possibilities of a simple rehabilitation protocol aimed at recreating the appropriate occlusal conditions with direct composite restorations as an element of preprosthetic treatment have been described.
